Most any person who has climbed the ladder of success to a management position knows how important it is to become a Quality Leader. There's a great dissimilarity in leading and managing. We have now all seen those differences, if we have been in the work force for very long. You might have some managers are desk people and provides the orders and then you have the leaders who work with their staff, train, coach, listen and lead them. They are in the center of the operations so that they identify the initiatives are on a timetable and what the problems or concerns might be. They don't rely on someone else to keep them up to date. They intermingle with their staff and the staff knows that their manager is reachable at all times. A leader knows that they aren't more important than the staff they're appointed to lead. Arrogance isn't acceptable in leadership or management. True leaders know they must never speak down to another person; making that person feel insufficient just isn't acceptable within Quality Leadership. True leaders never get too close to any one member of the staff. It could actually mean trouble you will not want to deal with and it definitely is never wise to have a relationship with a member of the staff. Work and play do not make a good team. Quality Leadership is aware of their personal expertise and what they might be lacking in some phase of the work. They are willing to let another member of the staff, who may possess this ability, have the chance to excel. They aren't afraid that someone will out-shine them. Not anyone knows all things there is to know abouteverything. Not anyone desires to look inefficient, but there is a difference and the focus must be; getting the project done inas little time as possible. Circumstance arrive whichwe possibly haven't had to deal with before, therefore if one member from the team has experienced the problem; it gives credit to theentire department. It certainly beats having to say; we don't employ a clue what to do. This isn'ta weakness in amanger; but strength and Leadership. Value in anything is a person, place or thing whichis worth something to another person; not simply to you. Value means that you happen to be at a point within your career wherein you happen to be secure with whom you have becomeand now your job is to create value in yourstaff. If youhave created value with yourstaff; you have become invaluable to the company. Character is somethingmost peoplecan see immediately in another individual. The appropriate temperament in dealing with your staff and their work tend to be very obvious the first time someone makes a mistake. Knowing how to deal well with highlysignificantissues; such asnot meeting deadlines, faulty processes or having an employee who'salways late, will emphasize ones character very quickly. The most effective managers I have known and worked with, usually have a firm understanding that getting too frustrated only makes the issuesworse and resolves nothing. They are surelycalm, poised and they possess leadership quality by focusing on the best way to cure the problem and never adding more fuel on the flame. You have become superior when you manage totally on what you believe is useful to providing an incredible team. You recognize that Quality Leadership is not being just one of the crowd.
